Day 1 Arrival at Kathmandu Airport, transfer to hotel, check-in.
Day 2 Preparation for the route in Kathmandu. We prepare all the equipment, pack it into a bag, and check that anything missing can be purchased in Kathmandu.
Day 3 Flight to Lukla (2,845 m) and trek to Chutanga (3,450 m + 715 m). We arrive in Lukla, hand over our luggage to the porters, and set off with light backpacks. We check into a lodge, which will be the most basic lodge on the route.
Day 4 Trek from Chutanga via the Chatra La pass (4,610 m +1,550 m) to Thuli Kharka. In my opinion, this is the most difficult part of the trek. There is a large elevation gain on the second day of the trek. But the incredible beauty of the views makes up for it!
Day 5 Trek from Thuli Kharka to Kote (3,605 m -295 m). The long descent over rocks will be a little tiring, but after that, everything is moderate.
Day 6 Trek from Kote to Thangnak (4,350 m +745 m). The easiest day of the trek, a gradual climb, and we will visit a small Buddhist temple along the way.
Day 7 Trek from Thangnak to Khare (5,054 m +704 m). On the way, we will visit a beautiful lake. We arrive in Khare, the last base lodge. We will spend a total of 3 days there.
Day 8 Rest and acclimatization in Khare (mountaineering classes). We will make an acclimatization trip towards Haig Camp. Depending on the condition of the route, we may need systems, crampons, rope, and ice axes.
Day 9 Trek from Khare to Haig Camp. Base camp before climbing Mera Peak (5,790 m +736 m). The trek takes 6-7 hours. Porters carry all the necessary equipment to the top. At the base camp, we stay in tents in pairs. Food and boiling water are available at the top. We travel light.
Day 10 Ascent to the summit of Mera Peak (6,476 m +686 m) and descent back to Khare (5,400 m -1,422 m). Early departure at 2 or 3 a.m. The ascent to the summit takes 5-6 hours. The climb is not difficult, the route is simple. The views are fantastic.

The mountain is not technically difficult. It is considered one of the easier high mountains. The mountain offers spectacular views of several eight-thousanders.

Best Season
The most ideal season for Mera Peak Climbing is considered to be the peak seasons like spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). Both of these seasons are known for their stable weather, warm climatic conditions, and dry trails which are ideal for every kind of outdoor adventure.
However, both of these seasons have particular highlight points that charm travelers. The spring season in particular is known as the blooming season in the Himlayas that covers the lower trekking trails with colorful wildflowers. The bright colorful varieties of the rhododendron flowers and their sweet fragrance as well as the opportunity to witness the endangered high Himlayan wildlife in the spring season make the trekking a delightful experience.
The temperature of the Mera region during the springtime is usually around 15°C to 20°C, but you can expect the temperature to drop to -8°C during the morning and nights at the higher altitude. Similarly, the autumn season is known for the most stunning and clear views of the Himlayan vistas.
During the autumn season, the temperature of the Mera region is at a moderate level, the landscapes washed by the monsoon rain are super fresh and the waterfalls and rivers nourished by the monsoon rain are at their pinnacle. The autumn season is also known as the festive season in Nepal which celebrates some of the grandest festivals in the country like Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath.
So the exploration prospects during this peak season is unparalleled to any other season making it the top choice among climber and trekkers. The temperature of the Mera region during the autumn is around 10°C to 18°C during the day and can drop to minus degrees during the early mornings and night. You can expect the climate to get colder during the morning and nights at altitudes over 4,000 meters during both of these seasons.

There are several factors that contribute to the overall difficulty level of the Mera Peak expedition, let’s check out the most significant ones.
Elevation Gain
Without a doubt, the elevation gain of the Mera Peak expedition is one of the major difficulty factors. As it is hard for the human body to easily acclimatize to an altitude over 2,500 meters, there are also risks for altitude sickness that the climbers have to be on the lookout for.
Starting your magnificent adventure from Lukla at 2,800 meters (9,186 meters) you will move along the ascending trails overcoming some of the major elevation jump points like Zatrawal Pass (4,600 meters), Tuli Kharka (4,300 meters), Khare (5,000), and the highest elevation point of the entire expedition, Mera Peak summit at 6,461 meters (21,197 feet).
Thus you have to prepare yourself properly to overcome the challenges at these significant altitudes and also stay on the lookout for any symptoms of altitude sickness.
Technical Section
Even though the Mera Peak expedition is considered a non-technical mountain due as it lacks strenuous climbing sections which demands a high level of mountaineering skills. There are still climbing sections on the mountain that require some technical skills, especially at the glacial segments and the dome near the summit.
However, just the basic level of mountaineering skills will be enough to overcome these segments, you will need to have a firm understanding of mountaineering equipment like jumars, ice axes, fixed rope, ice screws, etc.
Trekking Distance
The trekking distance in the Mera Peak expedition is another significant difficulty factor of the adventure. In Mera Peak Climbing you will cover an approximate distance of 125 km (78 miles), so you will be trekking for about 5- 6 hours on average during each day of your adventure.

Furthermore, you will also be carrying your luggage within the rising altitude where even simple trekking can be really tiring.
After overcoming the moraine trails, you will switch to the climbing trails of ice and snow, although is not that technical, climbing in the alpine environment is not an easy feat.
Remoteness
The Himlayan region in Nepal is an underdeveloped region, due to the lack of proper transportation modes in the region, there is much infrastructural development. The services and amenities you receive in your trekking trail are of moderate level and as the transportation via mules, yaks, and porters can be costly, you also expect the prices to be relatively higher than the lower region.
Similarly, the technological advancement and the medical facilities along the route are limited. You will not be able to enjoy the basic free electricity and internet amenities during your stay at the teahouses. Also, due to the lack of proper medical facilities along the trail, the only rescue option in the case of an emergency is via helicopter flight.
